HOME DECONSTRUCED

TYPE OF WORK:
Bookmaking

DATE:
Spring 2019

DIMENSIONS:
12” x 36”

ADVISED BY:
Suzi Cozzens
This book was made for the From Pulp to Print course, instructed by Professor Suzi Cozzens. The only two ground rules for this assingment was that the final deliverable had to be a book form and it had to be larger than two feet.

The inception of the book’s “content,” so to speak,  came to me as I walked aimlessly around Home Depot. Home Deconstrcuted features components of a typical home, from the roof to the flooring panels; the shingle is actually an extra from my own roof. Several components featured are leftovers from my own home, the shingle, table cloth, pillow case and table runners, just to name a few. A powerdrill was needed in order to effectively drill through each layer; this book is hand-cut and bound.
